I would make a difference but I’m busy faking this instead of trying

change my shift from now to never and I’ll pretend I’m fine

Welcome to Sunday evening. Been an interesting time getting to here. Doesn’t really feel like I am here yet truth be told.

Last Wednesday I went out and bought an external hard drive and backed up almost everything. Forgot to grab my IM logs but otherwise was cool. Then it was install a brand new OS on this computer. Overall I am pretty damn happy with it. The only real persistent issues are some remote login problems that I am working on and getting my memory card to mount through the card reader. But its getting there.

Thursday I did jack.

Friday I cut outta work early and went for a ride. Kinda like last Friday only I did laundry that Friday as opposed to having fun. Then it was home late, chill out with a few beers and a glass of scotch. Then Numb3rs, then video games. Helped out a close friend in there as well with some computer issues along the way. Good to know I still got it.

Saturday was get up late and chill for a while, then work on things. Then it was out to dinner and caught the incredible hulk. Actually not a bad movie, although Iron Man was better in my opinion. Mostly fun and it has some serious potential to tie in to things later. Especially if marvel hadn’t been dumber then shit and sold off some of their franchises. Like The Fantastic 4. Anyway, after Hulk it was out to grab a few beers then sleep.

This morning was Big Fish, then hang out for a while. Eventually I got off my ass and went for a ride. Scooted over to Hudson WI and grabbed a 6er for Father’s day, then dinner with the folks etc. Now its just chilling till bed time I think.

Work is work, nothing terribly exciting going on that I can share in this type of locale, but that’s life. Some things are going better then normal some are going worse then normal.

Pretty soon I am going to the lake. Starting to gear up towards that. Seems I am ultimately going to spend a small fortune in gas this summer but frankly I don’t give a damn. Its worth it.

Other then that… well the fat lady is sorta singing. Or at least humming on this update.

I’m still waitin for my date to kiss me or slap me

Cause there ain’t no way that I can be happy when I’m happy

Wow this has been, depending on your viewpoint, either the weekend from hell or the greatest weekend since sliced bread. Either way you slice it I am fucking exhausted.

Thursday evening my dad and I went to go see spam-a-lot, which was truly great. Not just great to spend some actual time with my dad, just him and I, but also the show. Got home late and basically went straight to sleep that evening.

Friday was work, then hang around for a little bit. Eventually I went out to a going away party for a buddy who is now in Tanzania doing his thing. I currently have an open invite to go visit him and his girl in Africa, however tickets are rather pricey to fly over there at the moment. While I was at that party (really just a couple of us having a few beers) I got a call from eau claire which brings me to Saturday.

Saturday I woke up and went over to Edina to have dinner with some family that I don’t see terribly often. It was really pleasant to see them. After that a quick run to Target and then that phone call from Friday comes into play. Apparently Larry was in town from VA on short notice to anybody. So I hopped in the car and drove down there to go catch lunch with Larry and Ben and whoever else wanted to join in. Instead of lunch the three of us plus Mike went to go see the new Indiana Jones movie. There were some positive parts and some huge fucking negative parts. Overall the movie got a great big “What the Fuck?!” from all of us. Then it was time to drive back home as I had a few parties to go to.

The drive back gets its own section. I was driving back and everything was cool, cruising along with the windows down and the moon roof open. Got a call telling me that the cities were under some severe weather. So I pulled into a rest stop and called my friend Paradise and had her check it out for me. She told me that there was some severe storms etc etc etc. So I drive back into the cities and it took me about an hour to go the last 30 miles. There was hail, 11 cars worth of accidents, tornado warnings, flooding on crosstown, thunderstorms and… sunshine. Some of the time. So the weather fucking sucked. But I made it home, had a beer and chilled out for a little bit before going to a friends girl’s birthday party were there was jello wrestling. Amusing as hell to watch. Then a burger, home and pass out.

Today I woke up and did my little cleaning etc. Then it was on the bike to cruise for a little bit before I went to a friends graduation party. Beautiful day and I will certainly be tan in a few days. Met a lot of her family which was interesting. After that was a nice cruise on the bike and then home to relax and be a vegetable for a little bit.

So yeah… either insanely awesome or insanely busy. Or both really. But a fuckton of fun.

Storms on the harbor, like a harbinger of bore

Gore’s my harbinger, pardon the art of war

So I finally went and saw Iron Man, it was a pretty decent flick, nothing to really complain about. It actually fits for Iron Man to get a PG-13 rating since Tony Stark is a pretty professional character (in the comics) as opposed to say Captain America (Rated G) or Wolverine (Rated R). At least in the comics. All in all though I would say that it was certainly worth the $5 for a matinee.

Also watched Spiderman 3 recently. Wow that movie sucked. There was potential a few times but Jesus Christ… I would rather go watch Jumper again. And jumper was pretty miserable. I also still need to see the new Indiana Jones movie as well as the new Narnia movie. After those two the next movie I give a shit about is the new batman movie. Thankfully there is no question that I will see that in theaters. Its just destined, since I have the worlds biggest Batman fan coming to visit me within two weeks of its release. Well, visit in so far as we are in a wedding together. But he is flying here rather then straight to the wedding.

Hrm, other news. I ticked the bike past 21,000 miles quite recently. Like today (if its still Monday the 26th when I post this). Its at like 21,002 or something. Anyway, it was a nice 200 mile ride today, over into WI as far as Baldwin, then north a ways, then back to MN through Hudson (hooray for meandering) then over through the cities to Wirth park, then out to lake Minnetonka, then around back through Minneapolis, then south into Bloomington, etc. At the time or writing this portion my mind is still very clear and the only thing left is an aching body. I really need to get a backrest for the bike or something.

Interesting, I just noticed quite recently, read: The last paragraph, that this app doesn’t recognize proper nouns. Probably a smart choice considering how many people suck at typing, but really. Wirth? Bloomingon? Those are considered typos? Whatever I suppose.

So Memorial day, well dinner at my parents place. A long ride. A cold beer. Some video games. Really nothing in there to complain about at all.

Roger Red ranger. Life aint bad.
