I’ve got a horse outside

So its been months since I have really thought about updating this. Haven’t had the time or even really the drive. But its become time to share what I have been up to. I just wish that it was more exciting then what it actually is.

The Short answer is work. Worked 21 days straight leading up to Thanksgiving week. Worked another 21 days straight starting on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Oddly enough, despite working more often I don’t think I earned as much money this year as I have in previous years. Still I guess thats how it goes and now its all over for me which is fantastic in my opinion. Its actually very strange to realize that I only have three days of work left in the entirety of the year. After I leave on Wednesday its 4 days off after a nice 3 days off this weekend.

So what else have I been doing with myself? Well I haven’t been playing much in the way of video games. I have new vegas and have barely touched it. I picked up BF:BC2 Vietnam and have put a few hours into that. I got darksiders for Christmas and haven’t even put it in yet. Its sort of strange to realize that gaming isn’t quite as important as it used to be to me I think primarily because I haven’t the time for it recently. It seems that when I have the time I play it and enjoy it, but when I am without time I am pretty ok with just putting it aside until I do have the time. Netflix on the other hand is harder to set aside.

So, since I mentioned Christmas up there, lets go ahead and wish everybody a (belated) merry Christmas and happy new year. Be safe and have fun. I did all of my family stuff two nights ago and had some decent times. I got a box that will hold 20 watches (already about half full), a nightstand, Darksiders, some cash, and some other stuff from family. Next week I will be doing one more Christmas time with the lady friend which I think will go well. Everybody who knows what I got her seems to approve which is always a good sign. Christmas day though I was good and lazy, didn’t do shit. Today I am probably going to go to the grocery store and thats about it. Hell, I might even pass on that. But I do intend to have a nice big bomber of “Wake Up Dead” imperial stout. Hopefully its good.

Now that all of the busy times are done though, for this year, I am looking forward to getting myself back into a routine. Working out a few times a week, trivia on Mondays (which has never stopped, still doing very well there), some gaming, time with friends, etc. So hopefully those of you who have missed me recently will be seeing more of me in the times to come.

So its been a fairly long while since I updated idoru again, seem to be falling into my old habits entirely too easy. But then again life has been busy to say the least.

Work is starting to pick up quite a bit. Tomorrow I start what I have been referring to as the “death march” which is 21 straight days of work. Not exactly looking forward to it but at least some of it will be done at home etc. Plus its a good way to get paid. Potential for quite a bit of extra money. Plus I will be setting my own schedule to a fair amount so I can keep having the extent of a social life that I want to have.

I spent last weekend in Florida. Fantastic vacation, even though we did get stuck in ATL on the way down there. Delta was pretty good about it, put us up in a hotel room, etc. Spent most of the weekend either sitting on the beach or by the pool although there were other things we did too. I will say that I didn’t once take out my camera. Overall a great trip and looking forward to doing something like that again, hopefully soon. I have also begun digging into my trip to Argentina quite a bit. Looking at tickets pretty regularly and hoping that I can get them for less then $1400 round trip. Really about 1,00 to 1,200 would be fine. Actually I think I could do it all for less then 2k if I can get a plane ticket for that price, so cross your fingers.

Sadly, I think my riding season is over. I was going to be motivated and put the bike up this morning so i could forget about the entire thing until the spring, but ended up doing other things instead. We will see, perhaps I will do it tomorrow. That said, this is certainly the least number of miles I will have put on in a year. Only about 3,000 which is nowhere near normal. But it happens and I don’t regret it. Certainly had enough other things to keep me pleasantly occupied.

Today is going to be a busy day, have a wedding to attend to in St. Paul that starts in about 2 and a half hours that should be ok… except for being a catholic ceremony and extremely long. Plus the reception doesn’t start until 5 which is kinda meh for me. Have a Halloween party to go to as well tonight that I am only sorta interested in going today. Of Course I also don’t even have a costume so if I do it will most likely just be going as a boy scout or something else that I can figure out in a relatively short bit of time. We’ll see I guess.

Started doing the netflix thing recently and while I always understood the hype, it really is fantastic. Already watched the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which was rather good. i don’t mind subtitled movies though. probably going to watch the Girl who played with fire sometime soon as well. Watched Iron Man 2 yesterday and it was good. They didn’t take themselves too seriously which was one of my concerns with the first movie being such a hit.

Also got an iPhone a little over a month ago. Pretty fantastic phone although its certainly an adjustment going from my jailbroken touch to a stock iPhone. The main thing I miss is being able to put things on the lockscreen, if apple would allow that I wouldn’t ever jailbreak most likely. I guess to me it just seems like such a silly waste of space but of course “apple knows best” at least according to the fan boys.

Picked up New Vegas about 2 weeks ago, what little I have played is pretty fantastic but I don’t know that I will have the time to play a bunch of it. So far though its quite a bit of fun. Probably the last game i will buy this year but so be it.

Other then that, there really isn’t that much going on right now. Trivia once a week, a lot of work, some random days not at home, etc. More or less just life as usual.

I’m dying to hear the things you’ve done and seen

So a few random things, all relatively short but I have some time so why not?

Idoru… I renewed idoru though the tail of 2015. 5 more delicious years of very random updates etc. Who knows what I am going to do with it (certainly not me) but I have some random ideas that I am tossing around. More photo stuff is one. Although I am still waiting on Gallery3 to get released as more then a release candidate. There are other potential things but thats probably the most likely option.

Work is work. Not fun, particularly at the moment. I am going to continue being a 1 man shop through at least October 11th at this point. Potentially even longer. There is some talk of having me fly to wherever the new employee is to train them. Right now its looking like it might be Chicago which would be pretty awesome. See some friends, have some beers etc. Also am getting some random bonus that is showing up on my next check. Looking forward to that, but its also just nice to get some recognition.

I am taking my 3rd full on vacation of the year next month. A nice long weekend in Florida, which should be fun. Mostly looking forward to it as a vacation from work but I am also going with some nice company. Although now that I think about, we don’t even have a hotel booked at this point. All well, flights are at least. Need to start planning for Argentina as well.

Also, still thinking about getting that damn iPhone. Its only been about 3 years that I have wanted one at this point and yet I still haven’t pulled the trigger. That said, my current phone has started to be a little crappy, so I might do this sooner rather then later. Actually I should do it within the next 10 days, so I can get that free case.

Well, this ended up being longer then I was expecting it to be but I have beer and football going so I am off to do that now.
