I’ve learned how to paint my face

How to earn my keep
How to clean my kill
Some nights I still can’t sleep

So its been a while and I have been meaning to update this, swear to god its been on my to do list for a while now but its been rough trying to find the time. Which is another way of saying that I have been surprisingly busy. However as I am going to skip the beer dabbler event today I ended up with a fair amount of extra free time so I will put it to (questionably) good use.

Work has been work. There is a lot going on that front that I don’t want to put out there as a whole for the world to find at large right now, not until something moves forward in the direction that I want it to move. However I can say some things. For example my trip to Chicago for work reasons keeps getting pushed back and now I am looking at sometime mid February for a trip that was originally supposed to take place in early January. To call that frustrating is an understatement at the least. Its prevented me from scheduling a vacation next month and at this rate will ultimately keep me from going anywhere warm until sometime in March, probably somewhat close to my birthday. Still, hopefully it will all be sorted out soon and I can start planning something.

I have been playing some video games when I have had the free time. I picked up Breach earlier this week and it, overall, seems like a good game with some flaws. The matchmaking system is atrocious as is the hosting issues. However when actually playing its a fairly fun game. Its just a matter of getting to the game itself. Still for $15 I can’t complain too much and suspect that I will be playing a decent amount of it on and off. I also pre-ordered MarvelvsCapcom3 earlier this week and am looking forward to its release in about 2 weeks or so. hopefully some of my skills from 2 will translate but I rather imagine that it will be more in the vein of SSIV for control scheme which is much less intuitive for me. Still, my secret weapon is waiting to be used… Aside from that its been Battlefield Bad Company 2, mostly Vietnam. I am getting close to three more achievements, which is killer in my book. Mostly I only play with friends but i might actually play some today after taking care of everything else. But on top of all of that I still have this backlog of games that I need to either start or finish: Dead Space, Fallout: New Vegas, Red Dead Redemption, and Darksiders. Every so often I think about taking a week off of work to just power through some of it but I never really do. And thats not even counting the games that I want to get some more random achievements in.

Every week I keep doing my weekly trivia as well, still the overall winningest team. By a long shot. I guess all of those days spent reading random shit has paid off in a huge way. By huge I mean a free pitcher most weeks and a couple of bucks in my pocket. Still I am enjoying it. When I do go to Chicago I will miss my first week of it ever but will still participate in a manner of speaking. I wrote the questions that will get pulled out for that week, some of which are fairly easy and some of which will make people’s head hurt. Curious to see what the top score of that week is actually.

Things on the personal front are going overall pretty well. Not perfect by any means but well. The Lady Friend and I are still going fairly strong and are hoping to take a vacation sometime in March (after the original plan of February has fallen through). I have a lot of PTO to be used this year so I suspect that there will be a few days of vacation time taken here and there. And a few other trips. Not sure exactly where to yet but somewhere fun thats for sure. I wouldn’t be too surprised to see Colorado again this year for example. But beyond that… who knows really.

I am stating to think, significantly, about getting a new car. I love my car but it also has over 200,000 miles on her, so its a little difficult to really avoid thinking about it. Right now I am torn between three cars really, a Celica GT-S (in that color actually) that I would buy off of a family member, a Hyundi Tiburon that I would probably try to buy off of a private sale and a Scion tC which appeals to me in a variety of ways. They all have their pluses and minuses and I don’t know what I will end up deciding to buy but that thoughts are there. And they are all the sort of cars that I like, even if they aren’t all the most practical. The surprising part to me is that they are all hatchbacks, which normally isn’t really my bag. Who knows at the end of the day I guess. Plus who knows, my car might stay a strong runner for years to come. See what happens and just roll with it.

Well I think that has probably been rambling enough and my mornings coffee is just about gone so I am going to go ahead and say goodbye.
