What a great weekend this one is turning out to be.Lets take the last week or so from the top. Tuesday after going back to work I hit the bar since it was 97F and by the time I realized that it was too late for my A/C. A few cold pitchers and A/C helped tremendously though. Wednesday was a quiet night at home catching the season finale of Criminal Minds. Like I told my friend right afterwords, it was a great episode and as opposed to say numb3rs managed to leave me really wanting more. Thursday was off to see terminator with a few friends. We make it to the theater and end up deciding to see Star Trek instead. Great movie and one that I would have no problem seeing again. The casting alone… well done all around.
Friday I stopped by the bar since its closed for the remainder of the weekend due to the holiday weekend. Sure there are … other bars but not as much fun and pricier so I don’t go t those nearly as often. After a while there it was off to Roseville for a friends party. Great fun and I was only moderately offensive to people I wasn’t a huge fan of. Not that i was actually trying, they just had a better sense of humor about it then most.
Yesterday was wake up and take care of all the assorted detritus of things waiting to get taken care of. Laundry, calling family that sort of thing. Then it was off for a nice and long ride. Apparently WI has opened up their waysides again which makes me overjoyed. More scenic then a rest stop even if they are a bit more rustic. Plus they are on roads I actually want to use, rather then the super slab. I also realized as I was headed home yesterday that I have ridden almost 1,500 miles this year. I remember reading a statistic that the average rider puts in somewhere around 1k per year so I am ahead of that game.
Today its downloading the newest version of ubuntu to throw on the laptop hooked up to the TV (eventually) and after I finish my coffee more riding. Then I get to see a great friend who I haven’t seen in a few years. Can’t wait even though I am not sure, at all, what the heck we are going to do. maybe some drinks in st. Paul as we were both invited to that. Thankfully, from my perspective, it doesn’t really matter!
And with that, time to go get ready for a ride before I see her. What a great weekend this one is turning out to be.

I really liked the “new” Star Trek as well. I agree about the casting, and I thought it was a novel spin on the movies as a whole (more about the characters and action, rather than moral dilemmas and sci-fi gadgets.) It was another cool “reset” like Batman, or even Superman. (I like the new one.) Even Transformers could be considered a reset, since the originals were all anime…

p.s. Have you heard about the “goddamn Batman?”

I agree about the resets although there are some bad resets coming out too (G.I. Joe for example). Star Trek was solid. Still need to see the new terminator and see how I think that one fares as a reset since its sort of doing the same thing.
And by the Goddamn Batman do you mean the comic that is currently on hiatus? Heard about it but never read it.
