Lets get our knife on

And get a couple snapshots of a bad move.

Do you remember that young girl who did all those things with her body?

Yeah, I guess you could say it was me who gave her her start!

Its odd keeping up with this regularly since I don’t tend to end up with huge things to talk about anymore. Not a bad thing but it is a little different then in years past where I would go months without updating and end up with huge gaps to cover. Even more different then further back where I was updating every few days with lots of minor stuff. So its a new phase of idoru for me to adjust to if I keep this pattern up.

Tuesday I went out for wings with an old friend, always a great time. We spent more time talking then eating actually and it was frankly a great time considering we hadn’t seen each other in months. In theory we are going to get together again before the holiday’s but I am not entirely sure that will happen. Might, might not I suppose.

The reason that might not happen is because I am working way way too much. I am getting paid for it which is killer, in fact the pay is rather good, but its still just a pain in the ass to be putting in 60+ hour weeks.

So Thursday was thanksgiving, I ended up working an 8 hour shift that day and by the time I got out there was nowhere open where I could get food, not even a grocery store. So I did what any reasonable person would do and went up the street to the bar. Ran into some friends and ended up spending a few hours and a few beers hanging out there before coming home to crash out. Friday evening I went out to the muddy pig, hung out with a buddy and met some new people who were pretty cool. Plus that place has such a great selection of beers that I almost never turn down a chance to go there.

Saturday I went out to Sandy’s and loved every minute of it before I left. Today I slept in and took care of things around the house in the morning before going shopping this afternoon. Amazingly enough there are no shoes that I can find that I like… I just need a new pair of shoes for work and a pair for everything else goddamn it. All well, I will just keep looking and eventually solve that problem one way or another. While I was out shopping for shoes and other things I got a phone call from an old old friend. Amazing how much I can talk about while I wander around Marshall’s. Great to catch up with her.

Speaking to her made me realize I really need to start planning out the true vacations, as in leave the midwest vacations, that I want to take in 2009. The within the midwest I can just sort of do whenever so that’s a little less urgent planning wise. However looking at the places that I want to go, well its interesting I guess. If I can pull it off then I will be impressed. Then again, as has been said: “You know what the Midwest is? Young & Restless” So its a possibility.

Work, as I previously mentioned, is nuts right now. This is actually the busiest busy season that I have seen in the 4 years I have been doing this job. Its a combination of things that has made it this way and I can see solutions to some of the issues. Its really interesting to see things playing out that I as predicting. Not entirely sure that its a good thing but it does reinforce my desire to find a new job which has so far been fruitless. But I am sure that the time will come that I manage to succeed in one way or another.

In site news I have gone ahead and renewed the domain. Doubt I will regret it because I can afford to drop the $20 right now. Speaking of money, its amazing to not have to pay a single bill before January 1st. I am sure that I will go ahead and pay my bills as they come in, same as always but its pretty awesome to realize that if I wanted to I wouldn’t have to spend any money outside of gas between now and then. Not that it would happen in a million years.I am also working on my little project for the site that should be posted around the new year which coincides with times in my past that i undertook this project. Been about 5 years since I have done it though.

So when I am not working or going to the bars what else have I been up to? Not a whole lot. Reading, video games, the normal but mostly I just veg out when I get home and do very little between work and sleep. Nothing really of note going on at the moment which is intentional, although I am making sure to continue doing all of the things I enjoy on a regular enough basis. Still trying to decide whether I want to install ubuntu on my laptop as well as whether I even use the thing enough to make it worth it to mess around with it at all. If i decide that I want to start using it regularly then I will most likely switch it over to linux of some flavor or another.

And I think that’s about all that I care to say at the moment.

So put your head up to the speakers

This is whats its like to stop talking and finally hear me

Catch up on my daily life is going to be fairly basic and short although it was a good week and a better weekend. During the week I mostly worked late and then did jack shit when I got home due to being tired. However the entire week I was looking forward to Thursday around 3:45. That time finally rolled around and I left work for a nice 3 days. That evening was spent catching up on all the regular household crap that I had neglected: Laundry, putting the bike up for the year, etc. Friday I went and got a hair cut, ran to target etc, before I was supposed to meet a friend for lunch. Turns out my friend ended up in UC but we still managed to get together albeit late for lunch. Then I headed down to Eau Claire where I hadn’t been since February or so. It was really amazing to see just how pregnant Laura is. Then dinner with some friends followed by a great night out at the bars. Lots of old friends, good conversation and fielding the question of “How do you do that?” more then once which made me laugh. I did miss a few people but you get used to that eventually. Saturday was back up here and bum around the cities for a while before I went out to Mortimer’s for a friend’s birthday. Today was mostly lazy although I did take care of some random maintenance stuff before I did dinner with my parents at my place. I think this is where I am supposed to say that I am too old for this shit. But I aint.

So I started messing around with the newest Ubuntu release on my laptop although its strictly live CD at this point. I keep debating about making the switch on that computer as I don’t use it that often and its sort of neat to be able to use all three major operating systems without moving. However that did give me the gumption to finally move my /home partition on this computer to a separate partition. I might be good at computers but I fucked something up and just got back online after a 3.5 hour gap. All well, it seems to be working just peachy now. You live, you learn. Now if only I could decide about my laptop.

In work news, well its work. I am looking forward to a short week this week although I am not sure what I am going to do with it. Hell I am not sure what I am going to do with my thanksgiving still. Have to decide by the end of the day tomorrow although I am leaning towards staying at home. I convinced at least one other person to go out on thanksgiving night yesterday. Otherwise… I am expecting a shit storm tomorrow and will just do what I can to fly under the radar. See if it works I guess.

I have to say I love my 360. Man did Microsoft make the new XBL dumber then shit. I don’t want Mii’s, otherwise I would buy a Wii. I don’t want 40,000 tabs of shit otherwise I would buy a PS3. I just want the menu items I use right there. On the flip side there are some cool parts, it is snappier (somehow) and its not bad. Also, Left 4 dead (the demo at least) is great. Even with the dumb ass computer for help. Might buy it, might not. Depends on who else I can find to play it I guess.

In other news… well at the moment there isn’t much else that’s fit for print as they say. At the very least its just enough. Here’s a video for you although it wasn’t an inspired choice on my part.
