And a ride might be right, just hit the gas and crash

Tonight, must have been a beast

So I have some recapping to do for … I dunno the last two weeks or so. Little more actually I think. No big deal there though.

Two weeks or so ago I was supposed to have a friend from out of town visit but that ended up falling through. Which sucked but its a part of life. So i mostly had a relaxing weekend. Sunday I went riding and something ended up happening to the bike so now I have a turn signal hanging on by its wires. Sucks when the weather is as nice as it is today and the bike is out of commission until next Wednesday at the earliest. Still, could always be worse.

The beginning of that week started off pretty quiet which was nice. Got together with a buddy on Tuesday night for some drinks and dinner but other then that nothing until Thursday. That day was wake up early and step up to the plate. At work by 6 am and swinging through till 10 am when I headed out, got an oil change and took care of a few minor things. Then hang out and hit up the airport.

Picked up my buddy who flew in, dinner then the dark knight. Goddamn was that a good movie. So glad to have finally seen it. Really it is bar none the best movie I have seen this year although it is so far from being pg-13 that its just sad. Can’t recommend it enough though to people who can actually see it. And there is no need to be a comic nerd to appreciate it. There are nods to the fan boys but they aren’t overblown.

Next day it was tooling around the cities to get a suit for Andy, then hit the road for Madison. Took about 4 and a half hours between construction and stops, get to the hotel, check in and 30 seconds later we realize we are running late for the rehearsal etc etc etc. After everything was taken care of for the day Andy I went out and had an adventure trying to find a place to shoot some pool. Over all that was a good call and in the end a fair amount of fun.

Saturday was relaxing during the day, spending time with Trevor and so forth before he got hitched. I was amazed at how much he wanted Taco Bell but I guess it makes sense in a way. Plus I got a better idea of the culture that he has now married into… Its something that I wouldn’t be able to do I am pretty damn sure about that. Suppose that love can conquer all but it gave me even more respect for Trevor. Then the wedding happened, nice and low key all taken care of. Dinner drinks etc. The only hiccup was getting back to the hotel. Apparently I make a very bad navigator when i am tired and have been drinking in a city I have never spent a lot of time in before. Was amusing though.

Sunday was cruise back here and relax through the evening. The next day I took Andy to all the places around the cities that I love then off to the airport with him. Sad to see him leave but it happens. It was a great thing for me to spend time with him though no doubt about that.

After that it was a matter of trying to get back into the grind no matter how little I want to. But its mostly over now so that helps there is no doubt about that. Work is work but I am back to actively looking for a new job. There are a lot of other miscellaneous things that are on my to do list as well, such as RMAing my phone (again) due to the blue tooth not working. Need to go to the hardware store and wash my car and so forth. Mostly its a lot of little stuff.

Spent last night hanging out with a good friend. Apparently I have learned that I like Abba. News to me I suppose.

And that’s all she wrote I suppose.

And I know she’s touched Heaven as well, trying to steal it

So its been a little while but it feels like the time to update. So where did we leave off in our gran tourismo of my life? Lets start somewhere near there.

Last week was nothing terribly exciting. In fact I suppose you could say that it was extremely not exciting which was kind of nice.At the very least nothing that I did particularly stands out in my mind. I remember that thursday I was invited to a concert on saturday, friday I had a half day because I was supposed to go north for the weekend. However by the time friday rolled around the group of people had dwindled to two so the idea of saving money seemed more appealing. Instead on Friday I went riding and then headed to a friends house for a while. Saturday I spent most of the day bumming around being lazy and then up to the north burbs for dinner and a movie. Hellboy 2 has good special effects but the story is just a little too simplistic for me in the end. Parts of it were interesting however. So yes, I did end up skipping the concert.

Sunday I sat around and took care of crap around the house then went out for dinner. Nothing exciting there. Monday was largely the same, Standard working for the dollar. Tuesday I went out to karaoke with a few friends and got a little tipsy but not much at all. Over all it was a heck of a lot of fun. Then, because I had thought ahead I was able to go in late on Wednesday and leave early. Let this be a lesson kids, thinking ahead can make life much easier.

Plus it really appears that I am not having any trouble using my PTO this year. After you take everything I have spent and have scheduled I am down to 5 and a half days left that I have to take before the end of the year. Plus another 5 optional ones. Lesson two: The corporate world isn’t all bad.

Anyway, after leaving work yesterday I went riding and clocked another 150 or so ont he bike. Always such a great way to spend an afternoon. Tonight is going to be fairly quiet I think, mostly video games and being lazy. But I am ok with that, no doubt about that.

Other then that, just prepping myself up for future events, should be fun.

Cause death don’t wait for no one

Seems there is another regularly scheduled update today. How odd to me that I seem to keep doing this on Sunday’s, albeit unintentionally. Guess its just when I have the most free time. Course i just realized that my last one was posted on Monday rather then Sunday, but I guess these things happen.

Anyway, rundown time. Last Monday I did indeed see wanted. It wasn’t the greatest flick but it was OK for $5. A fair amount of fun although nothing terribly exciting. At least you get to see Angelina Jolie’s ass, so that’s worth something. Course there are other movies where you can see her ass as well.

Tuesday and Wednesday… I honestly have no real recollection of what I did. I know that I went to work but past that it was apparently nothing special.

Thursday was trivia with two friends, then some Rock Band. I got sorta drunk and had to sober up. Didn’t end up getting home until after midnight and didn’t sleep till after 1. There are worse things though.

Friday I ended up taking a half day and sleeping the afternoon away on my couch. Felt damn good and was certainly needed that’s for damn sure. Then I headed over to a friends house and watched Halloween: the Curse of Micheal Meyers. It wasn’t real scary or anything. Certainly wasn’t very compelling. Guess I was always a little more of a Jason fan anyway.

Saturday I found out that my friend that was supposed to visit from out of town couldn’t so I ended up taking care of a lot of crap around the house that I had been neglecting, for example I actually cleaned the shower. Then ran to Surdyk’s liquor store and cleared out the rest of the rebate card that AT&T sent me on a couple of bombers. Finsihed off book two of the Dark Tower series so I really ned to get around to getting the last 5. Hopefully they are worth it. Then a friend came over, we got drunk and played video games and such. Surprisingly for three bombers I didn’t feel too drunk.

Today I got up and had my coffee then headed out on the bike. Went south to Northfield, over to red wing, then over into Wisconsin, east for a ways. Then back towards the cities etc etc etc. Ended up totaling out to around 250 miles on the bike today. Certainly a damn good way to spend the day even if I did end up being sore at the end of the day.

Other then that… just kinda killing time through this week waiting for the upcoming weekend I guess. Mostly because its going to be a really boring week.

And that’s that.
